BEAUTIFUL
LOSERS
BEAUTIFUL LOSERS celebrates the spirit behind
one of the most influential cultural moments of a generation.
In the early 1990's a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders
found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery,
artists like Shepard Fairey, Mark Gonzales, Spike Jonze,
Margaret Kilgallen, Mike Mills, Barry McGee, Phil Frost,
Chris Johanson, Harmony Korine, and Ed Templeton. Rooted
in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding,
surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that
reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft
with almost no influence from the "establishment" art
world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from,
have now become a movement that has been transforming pop
culture. Beautiful Losers tells the personal stories of
these artists who are considered leaders within this movement
and explores the creative ethos connecting them with today's
youth.

GOT
DEBT? Film & Author Discussion
The US government has rescued our
economy with bank bailouts and stimulus money but with
mounting social security and medicare costs and trade deficits,
how will the economy’s hero manage its own debts
down the road? An evening focused on what some say is an
economic crisis waiting to happen: our rising national
debt. We will explore its causes, solutions and get divergent
perspectives on whether this is a true crisis and how it
will affect our nation’s future. |

IOUSA
A documentary which examines the rapidly
growing national debt and its consequences for the United
States and its citizens, arguing America must mend its
spendthrift ways or face an economic disaster of epic
proportions. The film moves beyond doomsday rhetoric
to proffer potential financial scenarios and propose
solutions about how we can recreate a fiscally sound
nation for future generations, featuring interviews with
Warren Buffett, Alan Greenspan, Paul O'Neill, Robert
Rubin, and Paul Volcker, along with the Peter J. Peterson
Foundation’s (http://www.pgpf.org/) own David Walker
and Bob Bixby of the Concord Coalition.
