    Heracles' Arrow In The Sky

    Help kick off our summer of fun with stories from the stars by Historical Comedy's Chris Davis. This program transforms Greek myths about stellar constellations into hilarious comic scenes starring audience volunteers of all ages playing heroes, gods and monsters!

    Great Apollo Saturn V Rocket Lego Build

    Calling all master builders – A group build of the three foot model of the Saturn V rocket, which carried the first astronauts to the moon. From 5:30-6 we will build our stamina with pizza while we watch a short video of how the rocket was launched and carried the Eagle. Then we will (hopefully) complete the rocket by working in groups and getting it all together at the end. This will be on display in the library all summer. Ages 10 and up.

    Outdoor Galaxy Night with Telescopes

    Rain or clouds, event will be moved to Wednesday, July 10 – Our space evening begins with crafts and activities about constellations, planets and the solar system. For those who stay as it gets dark, we will have two telescopes and an amateur astronomer to help us understand what we are seeing. Saturn will be at its very best viewing, and maybe we will see its rings!

    One Giant Leap: A Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Party

    A community party for all ages to celebrate the amazing moment we landed on the moon. Food, trivia, activities plus a showing of a brief clip of the moon landing on our projector screen. The highlight will be Moon Landing Memories shared by those who witnessed it.

    The Wonderful World of Bats

    Learn about the importance of bats for a healthy environment, farmers, fruit growers, the rainforest and us. Plus learn about vampire bats, echolocation, hibernation and some of our local bats. After the program children can design their own pollinator T-shirt. Shirts are available for $4 or bring your own.

    Get the clues from the library any time during this moon landing anniversary week, and spend about an hour walking around town to find the answers.

    Wednesday, July 24, 7:00-8:00 -- Come to the library to finish the hunt by completing the final challenge. Then, claim your reward! If you can't come Wednesday night, you can still do the hunt around town.

    Explore Your Horoscope – With Local Astrologist and Personality Dwayne Dunlevy

    Dwayne will explain the basis for astrology, the system of horoscopes claims to predict aspects of personality based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other planetary objects at the time of birth. He will also discuss how your birth astrology relates to your everyday life. Bring your birth details: the town, state and country and the exact time of day so you can get your individualized chart. Pizza will be served from 6:30-7:00.
